As the SVP of Innovation and Sponsored Solutions, Hardie develops new technologies that improve the network TV experience. His team works with major consumer brands to integrate and enhance advertising and sponsorships on TV and in new forms of digital media including mobile apps, connected interactive TV, big data targeting, social media, virtual reality, and whatever else comes along. He developed the first TV network social media platforms and the FOX NOW streaming apps for mobile and connected devices. His work has been a finalist for the Emmy award in interactive media.

He started creating online and interactive entertainment by building a local BBS on a 300 baud modem on an Apple II back in the 70s. In the intervening years he has managed the development of many online entertainment products including the first internet connections for Apple’s eWorld, the official backstage webcast of the Grammy Awards, the Moxi cable media center DVR, the online video portal for Real Networks, and Yahoo!’s TV and Movies properties.

He thinks that conventional wisdom is almost always wrong.

Mike manages the marketing, sales, customer success and business development organizations at Hightail.

His background includes a variety roles from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies across both enterprise and consumer segments. Prior to Hightail, Mike founded an online gaming company called Spitball Entertainment and was VP of marketing and business development at hi5 (sold to Tagged), one of the world’s largest social networking sites, where he helped launch the company’s games portal, virtual currency, and original social game titles.

Previously, Mike was VP of marketing and interim CEO of Spoke, a social networking site for sales professionals. He co-founded Truviso (sold to Cisco), a real-time web analytics provider. He also was VP of product management and corporate marketing at Epiphany, a leading provider of marketing analytics and web personalization (sold to Infor), and an early employee of Octane Software prior to the company’s acquisition by Epiphany. Earlier, Mike held communications, marketing and product management positions at 3Com and MCI, and was a press secretary in the U.S. Senate. He is also a board member and past president of the Palo Alto Community Fund.

Mike holds a BA from Northwestern University and MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Martin’s unique experience in technology, combined with his innate understanding of the end user, differentiates him from many in his industry. He began his career in the entertainment industry by lighting exhibitions, TVs and concerts, and then had the chance to work with Tim Burton, so he transitioned to film.

While working on Corpse Bride, Martin helped design and implement the digital workflow needed for shooting a stop frame movie. That work led him to LAIKA, where he has since refined that pipeline and broadened his role. Now as the Manager of Media Services, he supports and maintains the digital pipeline from the stage to post delivery; manages Production demands for developing cutting-edge tools and technologies for the wide range of artists at work on LAIKA’s feature film projects; handles all media requests from outside vendors during feature film production; and helps manage marketing requests and demands for LAIKA’s movies.

Erik Weaver is a specialist focused on the intersection of Cloud and the Media and Entertainment Industry, currently running “Production in the Cloud” for ETC. The project unites senior leaders from the six major studios to develop next generation Cloud standards, support Hollywood organizations and major Cloud vendors, and produce proof of concepts. The group encompasses many aspects of the Cloud including transport, security, metadata, long-term storage, and formation of an agnostic framework that unites key vendors and studios.

Previously, Mr. Weaver was CEO of Digital Ribbon, Inc., a very early pioneer in the field of cloud-based computing. Mr. Weaver’s background started in Beowulf based clusters in 2001, which transitioned into Grid computing and on to the origins of cloud. As CEO of digitalribbon he helped pioneer early rendering in the cloud for animation and special effects. Other projects included, leading the largest online gaming simulation for the “Rock Band” video game and working with CERN to developed HPC clouds used in Biomedical research.

Chris has specialized in media security since 2001 performing various content risk management and supply chain security roles including EMI and Random House Group. As part of the CDSA management team he continues to provide ongoing consultancy support for a number of major film studios and record labels.

Bhavik has worked in the IT and communications field for over 15 years, at leading technology companies like HP, Agilent, Reliance Communications and Aspera. Bhavik started his career in product management at HP in Scotland testing GSM & CDMA cellular networks, and has held a variety of sales engineering, business development and product marketing roles.
