Kenneth Brady is Senior Vice President of Media Technology and Operations for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc (TBS, Inc.) Brady is responsible for the overall operation and planning of Turner’s media supply chain systems that support global operations for library, encoding, archive, and digital production workflows. He is based in Atlanta at the corporate headquarters and reports to Bob Hesskamp, SVP, Worldwide CNN Broadcast and Turner Media Technology.

An eighteen year veteran of Turner, his tenure has been marked with a series of technical accomplishments including the transition from analog to digital, standard to high definition, broadcast to broadband, and most recently from videotape to digital file-based workflow. He is currently leading initiatives to unify Turner’s operations around content storage, metadata enhancement, media preparation, and globalized distribution.

Within the Turner organization, Ken serves on various working teams including content management, file-based workflows, long-term storage initiatives, media standards, content security, and centralized procurement. He also assists in oversight and planning of Turner Sports digital production workflows including NCAA, NBA and New Media properties.

Formerly vice president, systems technology and digital media at Turner Studios, Brady began his career at Turner in 1995 as an editor and eventually formed the Systems Technology Group which provides numerous services to the Turner Entertainment Networks, including encoding and delivery for Turner content that is offered for electronic sell-through via providers like iTunes, as well as DVD and Blu-ray authoring for home video release. Prior to joining Turner, Brady produced and edited content for ESPN, NBC, various advertising agencies, and music video productions.

Brady has been recognized as a post-production, digital media workflow, and accessibility systems expert and is frequently requested to speak on these topics at industry conventions such as the National Association of Broadcasters, International Broadcasting Conference, Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, Storage Visions, Content and Communications World, Hollywood Post Alliance, and the Consumer Electronics Show.

He also recently received the 2013 Broadcasting and Cable Technology Leadership Award and the Association of Telecommunication Professionals Innovation Award for 2012. One of Brady’s recent projects, Turner Sports Central, was selected for the 2013 Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award, the 2013 NetApp Innovator of the Year-Americas Award, and was a Finalist for the prestigious 2012 IBC Innovation Award for Content Management.

Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a Minor in Public Policy Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
