Grant Gibson is the Head of Programming at AwesomenessTV, where he faces the daunting challenge of making the world more Awesome. Included under the AwesomenessTV banner are AwesomenessTV, the leading YouTube channel serving the global teen audience; the AwesomenessTV Network, a community based MCN with over 7.5 billion views; DreamWorksTV; Awestruck; Big Frame; as well as consumer products, music, publishing, and branded entertainment divisions.

Gibson has spent the past 15 years in the media business, connecting audiences to content through data and most recently came to AwesomenessTV as part of the Big Frame acquisition in 2014, where he was employee No. 1 and served as Head of Audience Development. Prior to Big Frame and AwesomenessTV, Gibson was Director, Strategy & Finance at ArcLight Cinemas where he helped shape the rollout strategy for the high-end movie theater’s growth from a single location to a national chain. Gibson was also previously Manager, Business Development at Twentieth Century FOX Filmed Entertainment Group, where he oversaw the studios VOD initiative.

Gibson received his bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He lives on the outskirts of Los Angeles with his wife and two children; no dog yet, but rumors abound.

Vanessa Jamieson Shanahan has over 11 year experience in quantitative analytics, 10 of which was spent exclusively serving the Entertainment Industry. Currently VP, Director of Analytics & Insight at Wunderman, a WPP advertising agency, Vanessa oversees digital, social, email, CRM, media analytics, and primary research across major brands. Vanessa also heads the Social Analytics Group across Wunderman Data and KBM Group. Prior to this she was Director of Analytics a London-based digital and social agency serving the entertainment industry. Before this she spent 8 years at MarketCast, a global research and consulting firm serving the entertainment industry, as Associate Director Product Development. Prior to this role she spent 3 years in London helping MarketCast launch an International office, and overseeing International quantitative research, and previously as an analyst worked across Brand, Advertising, and Tracking Research products. She started her career at OTX pioneering online survey data collection with streaming media assets. Vanessa has a Ph.D. in Applied Research Methodology and a MA in Organizational Behavior from the Claremont Colleges, and a BS in Biological Psychology & Neuroscience from UC San Diego. Vanessa is an expert in social media data, with interests that pertains to data integrations, visualizations, and technology solutions that support real-time data integrations.

Dominique Hanssens is the Bud Knapp Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management. He has served as the school’s faculty chair, associate dean, and marketing area chair. From 2005 to 2007 he served as Executive Director of the Marketing Science Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Hanssens studied econometrics at the University of Antwerp in his native Belgium. He then obtained an M.S. and Ph.D. in marketing from Purdue University. His research focuses on strategic marketing problems, in particular marketing productivity, to which he applies his expertise in data-analytic methods such as econometrics and time-series analysis. Professor Hanssens serves or has served as an area editor for Marketing Science and an associate editor for Management Science and the Journal of Marketing Research. His papers have appeared in the leading academic and professional journals in marketing, economics and statistics. Five of these articles have won Best Paper awards, in Marketing Science (1995, 2001, 2002), Journal of Marketing Research (1999, 2007) and Journal of Marketing (2010), and eight were award finalists. The second edition of his book with Leonard Parsons and Randall Schultz, entitled “Market Response Models” was published by Kluwer in 2001 and translated in Chinese by Shanghai People’s Publishing House in 2003. Professor Hanssens won distinguished teaching awards in the UCLA MBA and Executive MBA programs. In 2003 he was awarded the UCLA Anderson School’s Neidorf ‘decade’ teaching award, in 2007 he was the recipient of the Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award of the American Marketing Association, in 2010 he was elected a Fellow of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science, and in 2013 he received the AMA Mahajan Award for Career Contributions to Marketing Strategy Research.

Professor Hanssens’ consulting experience covers strategic marketing problems such as allocating marketing resources, assessing long-term marketing effectiveness and growing customer and brand equity. His approach emphasizes market-response modeling on sophisticated customer and marketing databases. He has conducted assignments for Agilent Technologies, British Telecom, Disney, Google, Hewlett Packard, Hughes, Johnson & Johnson, Mattel Toys, Mercedes, Microsoft, Schwab and Wells Fargo, among others. He is a founding partner of MarketShare, a global marketing analytics firm headquartered in Los Angeles.
